Day Support

Our day support services are licensed by The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Development Services (DBHDS).

Day Support

Our Day Support services are designed to support each individual in developing independent living skills in a variety of community settings. We offer opportunities for individuals to increase their skills in social awareness by building meaningful relationships within the community.

Our day support has 13 classrooms which offer a wide variety of task learning skills such as Interactive Training, Social Skills, Computer Skills with Internet, Technology, Arts and Music Therapy, Sensory Stimulation, Communication, and Safety Skills. 

​Our goal is to ensure each individual has the opportunity to become self-reliant and develop decision making skills to enhance their independence.

Some Of Our Volunteer & Community Activities Include:

  • Meals on Wheels (every Monday)
  • Chesapeake & Portsmouth Library
  • SPCA
  • Portsmouth YMCA
  • Harbor View & Cinemax Movie Theaters
  • AMC Bowling
  • Various Museum Visits
  • Local Restaurants
  • Chesapeake Square Mall
  • Parks & Recreations
  • Various Local Shopping Events
  • An Individual Must:

    • Be 18 years or older
    • Have a primary diagnosis of Intellectual Disabilities and have other documented needs in two or more adaptive skills areas. Individuals can have a secondary diagnosis of a variety of mental illnesses.
    • Must have the ID waiver, Day Support Waiver, or some oAther funding source through Social Services or the Community Services Board.
    • Not have behaviors that require intrusive behavior management techniques that jeopardizes the health, safety and welfare of other individuals.
